How to Get Your Medication Refills

Starting now, please use your pharmacy for refills — not by calling our office.

Why did we make this change?

  • Safety: When your pharmacy sends us the request, our team checks that your medicine and dose are correct and that it is safe to refill. We also make sure any needed blood tests are up to date before we approve it.
  • Speed: Electronic requests are handled faster and with fewer mistakes than phone calls.
  • Better care: This lets our staff spend more time helping you at your visits.

What to Do—Find Your Situation



Routine Refill (same medicine, same dose, not running out soon)

  1. Call or use the app at your pharmacy to ask for a refill.
  2. Your pharmacy will send the request to our office.
  3. We will look it over and send it back. Your pharmacy will let you know when it is ready.

 

Running Low (less than 3 days left of a heart medicine like Eliquis, Entresto, or amiodarone)

  1. Call your pharmacy to send us the request, AND
  2. Call our office at 856-546-3003 right away so we can take care of it the same day.

Mon–Fri 9AM–5PM. After hours, our answering service will take your message.

 

Controlled Medicine (some sleep, anxiety, or pain medicines)

  1. Call our office at 856-546-3003 to set up a visit.
  2. These medicines require an office visit before we can refill them. This is the law.

Good to Know

  • Ask for your refill 5 to 7 days before you run out, so there is enough time.
  • You need to come in for a visit once a year to keep getting your prescriptions.
  • Some heart medicines need a recent blood test before we can refill them. If yours is overdue, we will give you enough medicine to cover you while we get it scheduled.
